12. Wonder Woman's Shaved Armpits

Proving that people will complain about basically anything if you let them, a furore erupted over the Wonder Woman trailers showing the titular heroine to have shaved armpits, because some felt that an Amazonian woman who had spent most of her life on a remote island wouldn't be concerned with conventional human grooming techniques.

Some even argued that the pale appearance of Gal Gadot's underarms may have been a work of "digital makeup" to cover any remaining armpit hair.

Warner Bros. responded by re-colouring Gadot's pits for the next trailer, by which point most people had forgotten about the controversy completely anyway.

Quite sad it is that when the glossy marketing push began for the first major female superhero movie in over a decade, people just couldn't stop obsessing over something as mundane as her bloody pits.
