13 Most Ridiculous DCEU Controversies (So Far)

11. Perry White Is Played By A Black Man

When Laurence Fishburne was cast as Perry White, alongside the excitement that such a fantastic actor was cast as one of the Man of Steel's most iconic supporting characters, there were those who took exception to the famous newspaper man being played by a black actor.

Ignoring the fact that a black man had been cast to play a guy with the surname White, over-sensitive fans and closeted racists everywhere tried to argue in vain that being white was inherent to Perry White as a character, and that the change in skin colour was somehow a bad thing.

This is hardly exclusive to the DCEU, of course, with Idris Elba catching plenty of flak for playing Heimdall in the Thor movies, but in the case of Perry White, it seems even sillier because there's no conceivable argument beyond "my precious childhood is being ruined by 'political correctness gone mad'".

If casting a terrific, beloved actor to play a comic book icon, skin colour be-damned, is enough to derail your childhood, you desperately need to re-think your priorities.
