A Nova movie has been one of Marvel's most rumoured projects for years now and at one point James Gunn was very keen to have the intergalactic hero play a role in a Guardians of the Galaxy movie. That intent was shot down, which would seem to suggest that Marvel have other plans for him.

Indeed, in April, 2018, Kevin Feige said that a Nova movie has "immediate potential" for the studio and hinted he may show up sooner than expected. With his people and homeland decimated by Thanos before the events of Infinity War, he already has a ready-made origin story too, so it would be strange not to see that explored further.

Hopes

Please let it be Nathan Fillion. Even if he plays the original Nova who passes on his powers and the lore of his people to a human, he needs to be involved.

It may sound a little similar to both Captain Marvel's origin, Green Lantern and Shazam! somewhat, but it's still the story they should go for and seeding it out of Infinity War's decimation of Xandar is an easy in-point.
