10. The Dark Avengers

Hints

This one's a little more out of left-field than some of the other suggestions for the next announced Marvel movies (largely because we've seen seeds for some of those in some way in previous films), but there's been a pretty big hint fairly recently of a Dark Avengers movie.

According to That Hashtag Show, Marvel Studios are actively developing an adaptation of the Dark Avengers comic (though they say there's no guarantee that a completed script means a movie is a definite).

We've already been told by Bob Iger and Kevin Feige to expect "new directions" for the MCU in Phase 4, and a villain-centric project would certainly fit that bill. Plus, the idea of a new superhero team rising in the wake of Thanos' decimation of Earth makes sense as an alternative launch-point to Norman Osborn bringing together his team when the US loses faith in the Avengers.

Hopes

Fundamentally, that it's nothing like Suicide Squad. Some changes to the comic would be necessary, but that's nothing new for Marvel and if we are indeed getting a Skrull invasion of the MCU, then the idea of villains disguised as heroes would be a logical side concern. Just don't go too dark and throw out the founding principles of the MCU in the process.
