13 Movie Scenes Everyone Misunderstood As Kids

7. Patty Cake Is Sex For Cartoons - Who Framed Roger Rabbit?

What Kids See: Eddie (Bob Hoskins) spying on Marvin Acme and Jessica Rabbit as he insists that they play "patty cake". Given that the audience only sees the scene from Eddie's perspective, and his pictures later show the pair actually playing patty cake (pictured above), there's nothing weird going on, right?

But why was Roger so upset about it in the next scene?

The Reality: It's clear as day to any adult watching the movie that patty cake is a veiled innuendo for sex in the toon world, what with Acme's constant utterance of "patty cake" in the scene at in increasingly excited, exhausted tempo, and the moaning noises Jessica makes in accompaniment.

Though the pictures only show the two "innocently" playing patty cake, that's just a further hilarious layer to the devious allegory. Roger is upset because it's the cartoon equivalent of Jessica humping some other guy. Genius.
