13 Movie Sequels You Didn't Know Came Out In 2018

Remember The Marine? That awful John Cena-starring action-thriller released back in 2006, when WWE was still trying to make Big Match John a Hollywood titan on the level of Dwayne Johnson?

Bizarrely, the series has eked out a decent living on home video after the original bombed at the box office, with Ted DiBiase (the young one) starring in the second film, before The Miz took over the lead for the following four sequels.

The Marine 6: Close Quarters was fashioned as the final entry into the "hit" franchise, teaming The Miz's former Marine Jake Carter with Shawn freaking Michaels to battle an antagonist played by...Becky Lynch. Yup.

And though The Marine 6 will provide a few easy chuckles for WWE fans, it's still a fundamentally bad, cheap-looking movie. At least The Miz and Becky Lynch do well with the (admittedly rancid) material they have, but the less said about HBK's hilariously low-effort performance the better.

There's a cool fight scene between Lynch and Michaels that's worth watching and it admirably gives the franchise a pretty concrete ending, but how on Earth did the previous four STV sequels even generate enough revenue to justify this movie's existence? Baffling.
