13 Movies With Hilariously Inappropriate Product Placement

9. Smart Car - The Expendables 2

Product Placement: During the climactic gunfight, Church (Bruce Willis) and Trench (Arnold Schwarzenegger) begrudgingly get inside a Smart Car to continue taking out the bad guys, only for Arnie to rip the door off and outrageously quip, "My shoe is bigger than this car", before Willis kicks the other door off and they get moving. Why It's Inappropriate: Because it's basically making fun of the whole Smart Car brand, saying, "Smart Cars are only for girly men." Given how easily even old guys like Arnie and Willis can tear the doors off like the lid of a soup can is thoroughly mocking the product. That said, the car used was originally going to be a Ferrari, but the airport's floor would only support a smaller car, so director Simon West went the whole hog, deciding it would be hilarious if the pair were crammed into the smallest car possible. It's effective for the film and results in one of its most amusing moments, but it's not exactly a great ad for Smart Cars.
