13 Movies With Hilariously Inappropriate Product Placement
8. iPod - Blade: Trinity
Product Placement: In one of cinema's classically awful bouts of product placement, Abigail Whistler (Jessica Biel) confesses that she listens to music to pump her up while killing vampires. Cue a wealth of iPod shilling, even though Biel claims that the production didn't actually get any free Apple merchandise. Why It's Inappropriate: Because while the immense stupidity of listening to music while killing vampires isn't at all rooted in reality, from a situational awareness perspective, it is. For starters, it's likely that a lot of the underaged kids watching this R-rated action flick probably asked for an iPod that Christmas, and then probably emulated Whistler's behaviour in real life, except in relation to crossing the road or walking home at night rather than fighting vamps. Crank the music loud and just see what happens. A trip to the hospital or the loss of your wallet is quite possible (albeit depending where you live in the latter case).
Stay at home dad who spends as much time teaching his kids the merits of Martin Scorsese as possible (against the missus' wishes).
