13 Movies With Hilariously Inappropriate Product Placement

7. Nintendo Power Glove - The Wizard

Product Placement: The Wizard became infamous shortly after release for its blatant status as a feature-length commercial for various Nintendo products, such as the Power Glove and Super Mario Bros. 3 (footage of which debuted in the movie). Various clips of the Power Glove sold it as a game-changer for the medium, where players would be afforded incredible control of games with a few flicks of the wrist. Why It's Inappropriate: Because, unlike every other entry on this list, The Wizard didn't even depict something true to its purpose. In reality, the Power Glove had extremely limited movements and responsiveness, and the consensus is that, for the overwhelming majority of games, it was vastly inferior to just using a NES controller. The movie depicts it as the next big thing in gaming, but what's much closer to the truth is villain Lucas' now-infamous quip, "I love the Power Glove. It's so bad." Indeed it is.
