13 Movies That Are Destined To Disappoint In 2019

13. The New Mutants

Though the word is already out that Dark Phoenix probably isn't very good - or if dubious test screening reports are believed, it's actually hot garbage - the waters a little murkier when it comes to The New Mutants.

Originally intended to release this past April yet delayed until this coming August to allow director Josh Boone time to re-shoot significant portions - estimated to be 50% - of the film, it's certainly a move which should encourage fans to lower their expectations.

The New Mutants was initially announced on a tidal wave of hype, taking the X-Men franchise in a darker, more horror-centric new direction with a talented young cast including Anya Taylor-Joy, Maisie Williams and Charlie Heaton.

But then the so-so first trailer dropped, which basically resembled a generic PG-13 supernatural horror flick, and since news of the delay Fox has been curiously mum about the movie.

With six months to go until it supposedly hits cinemas, re-shoots still haven't happened and it's becoming increasingly likely that the film is being sent out to die because it's just not coming together how either the studio or Boone intended.

Don't be surprised if it ends up dumped on Disney+ in lieu of a theatrical release, and despite that initial promise, it'd be pretty damn shocking if it actually scores positive reviews.
