13 Movies That Scored A Legendary F With CinemaScore

4. BUG

Bug Ashley Judd Michael Shannon
Lionsgate

Before his career was rejuvenated somewhat with Killer Joe, The Exorcist's William Friedkin teamed Michael Shannon and Ashley Judd for weird psychological horror BUG, which was based on the play of the same name.

It takes in conspiracy theories, insects and music by Serj Tankian but none of that was enough to elevate it above an F.

Did It Deserve It?

The F is rather unfairly critical. The film is odd but it's not terrible and Shannon is a joy to watch as ever. It doesn't translate from the stage perfectly, and it's far from Friedkin's best work, but - ending aside - it's okay and successful at getting a rise for a while.

It also doubled its budget and earned a 61% with RottenTomatoes, so the F is definitely on the harsh side.
