13 Movies That Scored A Legendary F With CinemaScore

11. Darkness

Anna Paquin Darkness
Dimension Pictures

Despite boasting a great cast - including Anna Paquin and Game Of Thrones' Ian Glen - occult chiller Darkness was slapped with an F when it came out in 2002, and was critically mauled too.

The fact that it was put on hiatus from release for a whole year probably didn't help the hype either.

Did It Deserve It?

Sadly, pretty much. None of the talented cast are able to elevate the material and while there are some great visuals in there, the script is woeful, the editing is terrible and it's just not as scary as it could have been.

Strangely, it did actually make some good money (more than 3 times its budget), which solidly proves that people will go and see a horror if they truly believe they're going to be scared. So the F slightly misjudged the audience that existed for it, but got the quality spot on.
