13 Outrageously Awful 2014 Performances That Deserve Razzies
13. Jamie Foxx As Electro - The Amazing Spider-Man 2
In Jamie Foxx's defense, he didn't exactly have a lot to work with here: his Max Dillon character was a stereotypical nerd and bizarre Spider-Man fanboy with terrible motivations for hating Spidey, so what was he ever going to do? One still can't help but feel that the slick Foxx was wildly miscast in the role, and he's just pretty much phoning in his work here for an easy payday. He does fare slightly better as Electro, to his credit, but he's still a pathetically limp villain whose lack of menace makes a poorly-scripted movie even worse. That the film is hugely overstuffed (a lesson Sony apparently hadn't learned from Spider-Man 3) makes Foxx's contributions feel even less substantial, and by the time Spidey wipes him out, it's hard to give a damn.
Stay at home dad who spends as much time teaching his kids the merits of Martin Scorsese as possible (against the missus' wishes).
