8. Batman 3 (Tim Burton Version)
Tim Burton was primed to make a third and final Batman movie after Batman Returns, but after complaints from parents and corporate sponsors the movie was too dark, Burton was politely pushed from the directors seat and replaced with Joel Schumacher; we all know how that one played out. The jarring tonal shift between Returns and Forever annoyed fans, and missing out on a final Burton movie always felt like a missed opportunity. Not much is known about what Burtons take on the movie would have been; there are rumours of Robin Williams playing The Riddler, a return appearance by Catwoman and Marlon Wayans and Billy Dee Williams possibly playing Robin and Two-Face respectively. With Michael Keaton on a comeback trail with Birdman and Spotlight - and Burton badly in need of redemption for the last decade or so - fans still dream of them doing their take on The Dark Knight Returns. With Ben Affleck set to play Batman for the next hundred years or so, the odds are bleak, but that can stop people from daydreaming about it.
