In 2014’s Let Us Prey director Brian O’Malley singled himself out as a splatterfest director with a rough-edged style. Continuing the notion that he is a talent to watch, his latest effort is due to hit screens this year and this time around he’s substituted cut throats for cute kids.

Set in the 1920s out in the wilds of Ireland, the film sees Rachel and Edward finding themselves plagued by a rule-setting spirit that has taken up residence in their family home. In a tantalising hook, the spirit sets three key guidelines, them being that the kids are must be tucked up by midnight, no strangers are allowed in the house and escape is not an option.

First screened at the Toronto Film festival last year, the film is already generating some buzz and has all the trappings of a ghostly, gothic sleeper hit.
