13 Predictions For Next Summer's Biggest Movies

1. Hobbs & Shaw Is The Best-Reviewed Fast & Furious Movie

Prediction: Of the eight Fast and the Furious movies released to date, the best-reviewed of the lot so far is 2015's Furious 7, which holds an 80% approval rating with a 6.7/10 average score.

With the upcoming Hobbs and Shaw spin-off looking to offer something a little different - slightly less-ridiculous thrills in favour of a buddy movie two-hander between Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham, with Idris Elba playing the villain and Deadpool 2's David Leitch directing no less - it's easy to be optimistic about this one.

Of Leitch's three directorial efforts to date, both John Wick and Deadpool 2 reviewed better than any of the Fast and Furious movies, while his Atomic Blonde scored just slightly below Furious 7. That's putting him in pretty good stead, honestly.

Why It Might Not Happen: After the increasingly cartoonish insanity of the last four Fast and the Furious movies, perhaps a more straight-laced action flick just won't cut the mustard, or maybe the much-discussed "Dwayne Johnson fatigue" will put a dent in its critical esteem.
