13 Supporting Movie Characters You Loved More Than The Hero

5. The Frog Bros - The Lost Boys

For all of The Lost Boys' appeal and popularity, it struggles somewhat at the top end because the beautiful Jason Patric is just a little too vapid to really command the movie. Particularly when he's faced with the dark, irresistible charisma of Keifer Sutherland opposite him.

Again, that's sort of the point: Patric's character is supposed to be suggestible and vulnerable and you don't get that with typical hero types. It just means that there's lots of space for others in the film to become the more interesting characters: namely, the Frog Brothers, played by Corey Feldman and Jamison Newlander.

They're essentially the poster boys for weird, outsider losers fighting back against the jock-like cool kids (ok, so in this case they're vampires but the point stands) and their tenacity and loveable vulnerability (as well as their child-like wonder) is what elevates them well above Patric.
