Bond 25: 13 Things We Want To See

11. Madeleine Is Still James' Love Interest

Spectre ends with Bond and Madeleine Swann riding off into the sunset as 007 appears to retire from active duty. Though this was handled in a fairly uneven manner, it would seem even messier if Bond 25 didn't at least follow its lead, namely retaining Swann as Bond's love interest. Considering the revolving door of women that the series has conjured up, it wouldn't be too surprising if Swann was just ditched from the next film, but of course this would massively compromise Spectre's ending and make it feel like nothing. It's crucial that the character is back, even if just in some small role at the start of the film to kickstart the plot, because otherwise it will confirm that the last few minutes of Spectre were a complete waste of time. Plus, given how much effort was put into making Swann seem like a Super Important Love Interest, it would make no sense for her to just disappear in the next one.
