Bond 25: 13 Things We Want To See

12. No More Bond Backstory

We've had two movies now which have devoted much screen time to developing Bond's past: Skyfall acknowledged the loss of his parents and saw us witness the destruction of his childhood home, while Spectre details what happens next, as Bond is adopted by Franz Oberhauser's father, leading to that laughably predictable plot twist where Blofeld turns out to be Bond's stepbrother. But haven't we had enough of all that now? Sure, the next film needs to have as much character development as these previous movies, but maybe keep it in the present this time, with more scenes such as the one set in Bond's flat, as Moneypenny swings by. The back story stuff has been a pretty mixed bag overall (certainly more successful in Skyfall than Spectre), so piling more on top of it probably won't do any good.
