13 Things You Didn't Know About Friday 13th Part III

Friday The 13th Part 3 is the only film in the entire franchise in which none of the characters actually mention Jason's name.

There's an obvious reason for that - the events of the film are supposed to take place immediately after the events of Friday The 13th Part 2, and Paul and Ginny (assuming Paul is actually alive) are the only people left who knew the killer was Jason Voorhees.

None of the fourteen victims in Part 3 know who Jason is, or even that there had been a recent massacre event near their holiday home (presumably because they were on the road when the news started reporting it).

Even final girl Chris Higgins, who has a history with Jason from when he mysteriously attacked her two years earlier, doesn't actually know his name or what his story is. If she had, it would have formed part of the exposition when she told Rick about the incident.

Weirdly, despite the holidaymakers clearly having no idea about any of the area's previous three incidents of mass murder, the film's prankster Shelly brings with him various practical joking materials - like fake blood, a cleaver/scalp prosthetic, a speargun and (ki-ki-ki ma-ma-ma) a hockey mask - specifically designed to scare people who are nervous about running into a serial killer.

What's that about?
