Ted White was the oldest man ever to play Jason Voorhees: he was weeks away from his fifty-eighth birthday when shooting the film. Although he's technically playing Betsy 'Pamela Voorhees' Palmer's son, he's actually nearly a year older.

hired for his six foot four height and long years of experience, White had doubled for actors as legendary as John Wayne and Clark Gable over the course of a long and distinguished career.

That career is probably what allowed White the latitude to stand up for his younger fellow cast members on set and location. You see, in both of the above scenarios White ended up advocating for his young, inexperienced co-stars, insisting after a couple of takes that Barton be provided with a crash mat to support his head against the tiles, and threatening to walk off set and quit the movie unless Zito allowed Aronson to warm up between takes.

Reluctantly, Zito complied, but the combative nature of their relationship extended to White’s view of the movie afterwards. He hadn’t been that keen on making a slasher movie in the first place, and despised Zito so much that he insisted that his name be taken off “this piece of sh*t movie”. Although later movies in the series that used clips from his work credited White, he remains uncredited on The Final Chapter itself.
