13 Things You Learn Re-Watching Jurassic World

2. It's Still The Second Best Jurassic Park Movie

Jurassic Park is one of Steven Spielberg's most accomplished blockbusters, and it would be extremely tricky to find anyone who says it isn't the best of the franchise. Its sequels, on the other hand, haven't fared so well.

The Lost World had some good ideas but failed to bring them together into a satisfying whole and culminated in a disappointing San Diego-set finale. As for Jurassic Park III, despite some good action its uninteresting plot rendered it a complete bore for most of the run-time.

Jurassic World, even after Fallen Kingdom's release, is still the best of the sequels. It's the most fun to watch, it's the only one which comes close to replicating the wonder of the first film and it also triumphs as a nostalgic piece for the many, many people who had their childhoods defined by the first Jurassic Park.

Fallen Kingdom has plenty of tense action scenes, charismatic thrills and even some thought-provoking themes, but Jurassic World captures the spirit and charm of the original better and just about edges it.
