The movie business is an optimistic one. Often placing massive budgets on films that will never be able to make them back and trying to create franchises out of unproven intellectual properties. However, perhaps where they are most optimistic is starting Summer at the end of April and if you live in England like me, that is pretty darn optimistic. With the release of Iron Man 3 within the grasp of everyone, the summer movie season is just about to get underway and there are going to be some massive films this season. While it is not quite as 'hotly anticipated as 2012's summer season with The Dark Knight Rises,The Avengers, Prometheus and the Amazing Spiderman, this summer should still be full of its fair share of big box office hits. As it all grows closer, most of the trailers have now hit and we are starting to get our look at how they are going to shape up. This list isn't trying to make a judgement on what will be best but simply what are the most anticipated movies this season and how well they might do. As a rule, I generally hate lists that look at look at box office for success but...well, it is time to get excited.
13. World War Z
Max Brooks's book World War Z is widely considered the seminal zombie work of the 21st century. A multifaceted story about a reporter correlating the accounts from all over the world as a zombie apocalypse tears it apart. If you haven't read it, it is well worth you time even if you are sick to death or never had much interest in zombies. It isn't just one of the best books on the subject but it is just a very good piece of literature. But when a movie was anounced with Brad Pitt attached, many were concerned how an adaption may look on the silver screen. Well if the trailer is anything to go by, their answer was to make it nothing like the book. That isn't necessarily a bad thing at all, but it is certainly looking like another beast entirely. This film is going to give a "wave of zombies" a whole other meaning. However, I am a little worried about the movies chances. There are a ton of hotly anticipated films out around it and it may struggle to overcome an audience fatigue of zombies. Also, the more zany imagery may put people off. But the draw of Pitt is certainly worth something. Plus, it could still come out really good. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4EC7P5WdUko
