13 Unlikely Movies That Might Exist 10 Years From Now

5. Saw 15

Lionsgate

Why It's Unlikely: Just because the Saw franchise is getting a soft reboot of sorts with next year's eighth film, Saw: Legacy, doesn't mean that Lionsgate are going to churn out another seven movies in the space of nine years...or does it?

Considering that franchise fatigue set in after six movies last time, it would be highly optimistic to expect the series' resurgence to last as long.

Why It Might Happen: Even if the series runs out of box office steam after a few more movies, don't discount the profitability of the franchise going straight-to-VOD at some point.

VOD releases weren't a thing when the Saw franchise began, and nowadays it's no longer seen strictly as the badge of disgrace it was when the platform first launched.

Considering that these movies cost about $10 million each, they could easily turn a decent profit on VOD or even Netflix if released on Halloween weekend each year. With that model in mind, we could surely see another seven movies before 2026 if Saw: Legacy gets things off on the right foot.
