Robert Zemeckis' new prestige holiday release is ticking all of the "failed Oscar-bait" boxes so far. Foregoing an expected film festival bow and touting a trailer that suggests it's nothing but pure schmaltz, this is definitely the most suspect awards season release so far.

With Christmas being such a ridiculously stacked period and Mary Poppins likely gobbling up most of the family box office bucks, this hasn't got a hope in hell of grossing $140+ million and actually turning a profit.

Considering that Zemeckis' last movie to double its budget was Cast Away back in 2000, the smart money's on this being dead-on-arrival.

Estimated Box Office: $40 million
