13 Upcoming Movies That Are Already Doomed (And Why)

6. Friday The 13th

Valerian Dane DeHaan Cara Delevingne
Paramount Pictures

Release Date: October 13, 2017

Why It's Doomed: It's truly baffling that Paramount didn't pull the trigger on a lazy sequel to 2009's Friday the 13th after it cleaned up at the box office and, in honesty, wasn't that bad as far as horror remakes go.

Various scripts and ideas have been bounced around ever since, including a found footage reboot of the series, and even with a solid writer in Aaron Guzikowski (Prisoners) and sometimes-good director Breck Eisner (The Crazies) ready to go, the pic has just been continually delayed.

Clearly the franchise will be getting yet another unnecessary reboot, but will there still be a place for Jason Voorhees in 2017, assuming the film actually ever gets made, of course? Negative reviews are all-but-guaranteed, while box office remains a little more up in the air.
