The Hype: The fourth and apparently final entry into the ensemble action homage franchise.

Why It Won't Happen: Where to begin? 2013's The Expendables 3 was a box office disappointment, widely attributed to its PG-13 rating, hence why so much time has passed without another sequel going into production.

Plus, franchise figurehead Sylvester Stallone quit the series earlier this year over creative differences with the studio, which also prompted Arnold Schwarzenegger to insist he wouldn't return without Sly.

As such, Lionsgate will probably just cut their losses, because without its two biggest stars, what's the point?

Why It Still Could: The series could probably still survive with Jason Statham as the lead if some fun new supporting stars were added to the mix, and at the very least it probably wouldn't be a total box office dud (the last movie still more-than-doubled its budget).
