13 Ways DC Is Attempting To Combat The Marvel Films Model

12. Better Production Values

Whereas Marvel has succeeded in both developing strong characters and creating unbelievable action scenes, many of the technical aspects of their films have left fans wanting. In particular, they€™ve struggled to cobble together any memorable scores or striking cinematography.

Marvel has undeniably lacked strong soundtracks for most of their movies. With the exceptions of the classic Guardians Of The Galaxy playlist and Henry Jackman€™s electronic The Winter Soldier, most of their stuff has been Bryan Tyler putting out some serviceable background noise. Even if DC€™s answer for all things music is Hans Zimmer, that€™s better than most of what Marvel has already done.

On the visual side of things, for all of his faults as a director, Zack Snyder€™s works have always been visually stunning. Look no further than Amir Mokri€™s beautiful photography from the Man Of Steel trailer to be reminded of that. Now that he€™s re-teaming with his frequent collaborator Larry Fong, the DC movies are already standing out with how beautiful they look compared to the very ordinarily-shot Marvel fare.

DC certainly hasn€™t proven themselves enough in this regard yet, but just based on Marvel€™s inability to deliver, this could be a huge area for them to capitalize on.
