When you hear the name Hermione Granger, the first thing you probably thing of is a library and bushy hair which is what J. K. Rowling wanted. Rowling wanted a positive role model and she's pretty much taught everyone to value qualities such as kindness and friendship, as well as intelligence over superficial ideals. Hermione represents a new breed of woman who values their brains over their body and, in order to succeed, you need to work hard instead of figuring out who you can use to climb your way to the top. Not only is she considered to be at a disadvantage for being muggle born, but she was the smartest witch of her time and Harry and Ron would have been completely lost without her. Intelligence is sexy because let's face it, you don't want to be with someone who doesn't know where to put it.
