13 Worst Decisions Hollywood Has Made In 2017 (So Far)

2. Firing Chris Miller & Phil Lord From Star Wars: Han Solo

Producer Kathleen Kennedy shocked the world recently when it was announced that original Han Solo directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller had been fired by her, with subsequent reports suggesting that Kennedy was unimpressed with their unconventional, more improvisational filmmaking style and frequent deviations from writer Lawrence Kasdan's script.

Ron Howard has since been installed as the replacement director, and while he's certainly a steady pair of hands to get the job done, it's a shame that the film will now be overseen by a safe, by-the-book filmmaker rather than two unique, on-the-rise directors who seemed to have a very clear and distinct vision for the movie.

It remains to be seen how the end product turns out, and Kennedy is a professional who certainly had her reasons for the personnel shift, but it's fair to say that fan confidence in an already dubious product has taken a substantial hit.
