14 Awesome Movies To Watch This Summer (Which Aren't Blockbusters)

7. A Quiet Place

A Quiet Place Emily Blunt
Paramount

Release Date: April 6

The Plot: A family of four must live in silence, as they're mercilessly hunted by mysterious creatures which can only detect their presence by sound.

Why It's Going To Be Awesome: A Quiet Place has an absolutely killer premise, and a front-and-centre Emily Blunt to sweeten the deal. What's more, early reviews from SXSW are universally positive so far, especially praising Blunt's performance and the direction of her real-life husband and co-star John Krasinski.

The reviews make it clear that the movie doesn't chicken out and abandon its silence gimmick at the end of act one, apparently sustaining it for basically the entire film. Don't be surprised if this is the big genre sleeper hit of the summer, grossing a few hundred million bucks at the box office before it's all said and done.
