14 Awesome Recent Movies That Actually Deserve Sequels

1. Logan

Logan was a critical and commercial smash earlier this year, breathing fresh new life into the X-Men universe with its dark, gritty and ultra-violent conclusion to Wolverine's story, though the film very clearly left things wide open for a follow-up.

With Laura aka X-23 and her fellow mutants escaping across the border into Canada, a movie which picks up with her a few years later is a pitch filled with so much potential.

How Likely Is It?: There are tentative plans for a Laura movie, with writer-director James Mangold currently hashing out the script, though the lack of a formal confirmation means it's basically still up in the air.

It depends on a lot of factors, such as actress Dafne Keen's willingness to return, but given how well-received her performance was in Logan, it seems highly probable she would be, and that audiences would be eager to pick up with the character a few years into the future.

There's no need to rush this one, so even if it doesn't happen for a while, it'll probably get made eventually. 7/10
