13. The Raid 2

The Raid 2 did a fantastic job of one-upping the original movie's insane action and gloriously over-the-top set-pieces.

With a hugely expanded scope and more ambitious narrative, Gareth Evans' follow-up was everything a sequel needed to be, and delivered some of the most memorably brutal action from any movie of the last few years.

The Raid 3 was naturally a consideration before the second one even hit screens, because as long as the action stays brutal and everyone involved is up for returning, why wouldn't this happen?

How Likely Is It?: Evans is currently hard at work on his Netflix thriller Apostle, and though he has talked about the possibility of a third film, the director has also been reluctant to straight-up confirm it.

Evans has mentioned that he has an idea for The Raid 3's plot, but stated last year that fans shouldn't hold their breath, adding, "Never say never, but it’s unlikely to happen anytime soon." It's a tough one to bank on either way, basically. 5/10
