14. Yoda Arrives On Dagobah

Lucasfilm

Which Episode? Revenge Of The Sith

Where would it be in film? In the final montage showing where the principal characters end up.

What happens? Topping off a trilogy's worth of bad messages, Yoda decides that if at first you don't succeed, give up. After learning from Qui-Gon about the powers of immortality, he goes into exile on swap planet Dagobah. The scene's a short sequence that shows him arriving at his new home with more than a little bit of regret. It's going to be a long twenty-or-so years.

Should it have been cut? From a saga-wide standpoint, not knowing where Yoda is retains his air of mystery in the original movies, but, as the shock reveal this little green muppet is a Jedi Master has already been negated, it's not a big deal. Given that Yoda had become an increasingly important part of the story it makes sense to see where he's going. It's not a necessary moment, but adds so little to the film's run time it's strange it wasn't included.
