The Universe: Here's one to bake your noodle, that David Lynch's original projects, including Eraserhead, Blue Velvet, Lost Highway, Mulholland Drive and Inland Empire all transpire within the same surreal dreamscape. Hell, throw in Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me and you can even rope in the TV series at the same time. Why It'd Be Awesome: Because as if the movies Lynch makes aren't confusing enough already, why not try and tether everything into a wildly convoluted, even more nonsensical web? Plus, the beauty of it is that, whether a fan theory or a canonical proclamation by the director himself, there doesn't have to be any concrete coherence to it: Lynch's films live and die on their fluid logic, which is great for the tinfoil hat theorists. How Likely Is It?: 3/10. Lynch evidently delights in beguiling audiences, and so there's a possibility he'd support the idea in theory. However, he hasn't made a movie in almost a decade now, and it seems doubtful he'd dare commit to something as definite as flat-out confirming that his movies all co-exist. It would be super trippy, though.
