14 Cinematic Universes Everyone Wants To See

8. Greek Mythology Cinematic Universe

The Universe: A series of adaptations from classic Greek myths, including Homer's Iliad and Odyssey, depicting the adventures of Hercules, Achilles, Odysseus, Jason and the Argonauts, Perseus, Oedipus, Theseus and so on. Why It'd Be Awesome: Because these stories have undeniable cinematic value, and many of them have never been attempted on a sizeable budget with a talented cast and crew. Plus, with last year's surprisingly solid Hercules movie already out in the wild (despite not exactly igniting the box office), in effect it's already begun. How Likely Is It?: 7/10. Lionsgate are already trying to get this one made, though it's still in the early ages and, as ever, these things can fall through at the seeming drop of a hat. Still, films with these themes have done relatively well in the past (the two new Clash of the Titans movies, for one), so hopefully it'll happen, and without butchering the source material too much. Step one: don't cast Sam Worthington.
