14 Cinematic Universes Everyone Wants To See

7. Guillermo Del Toro Cinematic Universe

The Universe: All of Guilermo del Toro's original projects, Cronos, The Devil's Backbone, Pan's Labyrinth, Pacific Rim and Crimson Peak, exist in the same larger-than-life world. Why It'd Be Awesome: Even though Pacific Rim doesn't really fit in with the rest, that's more because of its time and place compared to the period settings of the other movies. It would do little to diminish their individual awesomeness to know that these fantastically fantastical stories all took place in the same continuity. How Likely Is It?: 3/10. Del Toro just doesn't give the impression he cares much about this sort of thing, but hey, there's every chance that Crimson Peak could include a few cheeky nods to the aforementioned films. But probably not. The director's films are typically singular enough that, while this would be a neat idea, he just doesn't need to do it at all.
