14 Horror Film Sequels You Didn't Know Were In The Works

1. 28 Months Later

It has been ages since we€™ve seen or heard anything about the 28 series and that€™s super sad when you think about how powerful and successful the first film was. It had a simple plot: a man wakes up from a coma to find himself in the middle of a post-apocolyptic London filled with infected, zombie-like predators and very few humans fighting for their lives. Hollywood carried that plot to a less than satisfying sequel, filled with tons more jump scares and very thin story line of humans trying to rehabilitate the city. Alex Garland, the writer of 28 Days Later, has apparently come up with an idea worthy of the title 28 Months Later and has shared that with producer Andrew McDonald. That isn't to say that Garland will be writing this one; in fact McDonald will be taking a stab at it. No one knows whether or not Danny Boyle will sign on to direct, though that would be magical, wouldn€™t it? While we have no plot detail yet, Garland was quoted on saying that the idea came to him after he had taken a trip. A trip to where? If it was a trip to London, that€™s not very exciting, but perhaps it was a trip to somewhere in Africa? Perhaps an island in the Caribbean? Just imagine the possibilities. Because it is still in €œdevelopment€, there is no definite release date, but it€™s been 8 years since the second movie was released, so we definitely all have the willpower to wait just a tad bit longer for something that has the potential to be visually stunning while also leaving us completely terrified. Which of these horror sequels are you most excited for? Share your picks below in the comments thread.
