14 Life Lessons You Can Learn From Jurassic Park
Turn the light off. TURN THE LIGHT OFF.
With the long-anticipated Jurassic World now only a matter of weeks away, it seemed only fitting to go back and re-evaluate some of the best (and worst) bits from Jurassic Park. It seems hard to believe that the famous dinosaur movie was released in 1993; but don't let it's age fool you into thinking that the film is no longer relevant. For many kids, Jurassic Park will have served as a tuition into the ins and outs of what should be on your agenda if you ever end up on a island where carnivorous dinosaurs are roaming around with empty stomachs. Namely, don't waste time eating a buffet while velociraptors are still wandering freely around the premises. Overall, you'd hope that the main lesson learned is to not ever think that messing with dinosaur DNA is a good idea; or at least, use this DNA to help cure things like cancer rather than make money from a dangerous theme park. But that's the film, and it is beloved by many, so we can't really complain. For those of us who are a little older now, there are a few bigger lessons we can take from the film, and perhaps apply to our own lives, if only to ensure no one ever ends up in any of the situations the JP characters did (i.e dying on a toilet, or hiring a fat maniac to control your dinosaur security system).
