8. Jurassic World
Why It's Disappointing: Because a fourth Jurassic Park movie shouldn't just be better than the previous two movies: with this level of talent on-board, it should be a potent follow-up to the original, retaining the same feeling of wonder, terror and excitement that has allowed it to endure over 20 years. Instead, despite its largely positive reviews, Jurassic World doesn't really live up to the admittedly sky-high expectations, serving up basic genre thrills but epically failing in terms of character, plot, tone and general production quality. Above all else, it's just not as memorable as fans were hoping for. How To Improve It: Dump more money and effort into the strangely poor visual effects, replace all the placeholder dialogue with wittier lines akin to the original, ditch all the obnoxious product placement and emphasise both the thrill and terror of the chase that made the original so utterly terrifying. Also, dump the romance storyline. Oh, and make Margarita Guy into a full-fledged character.
