14 Movie Franchises You Had No Idea Still Existed

2. Child's Play

The Child's Play franchise celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, but considering the last theatrically-released entry was 2004's horrendous Seed of Chucky, you'd be forgiven for forgetting that it's still going strong-ish.

After almost a decade on the shelf, the series was brought roaring back to life with 2013's surprisingly solid sixth movie, Curse of Chucky, which did well enough for a seventh film, Cult of Chucky, to release to similar acclaim late last year.

With the series managing to rope many of its earlier cast members back, there's evidently still plenty of life left in the old dog yet, especially as creator Don Mancini has dared to move with the times and not harmed the brand by just lazily churning out sequel after sequel.

Dare one say it, but Cult of Chucky's provocative ending might actually leave fans excited for number eight.
