If you're a horror fan, there's a good chance you're aware of the horror-comedy Hatchet franchise, which kicked off with 2006's broadly well-received original.

Fairly middling sequels arrived in 2010 and 2013, after which the series seemed to have run its course, and creator Adam Green appeared to move onto other projects.

This changed last summer, however, with the surprise reveal that Green had secretly filmed a reboot-sequel entitled Victor Crowley (the name of the hatchet-wielding antagonist).

Pretty much nobody could've expected a micro-budget horror flick from 2006 to still be relevant over a decade later, but clearly, Green is hopeful that his new approach will keep the franchise alive for a few more entries.
