14 Movie Trailers That Spoiled Awesome Plot Twists

12. Goldeneye

Pierce Brosnan's first time in the saddle as James Bond opens with a kinetic pre-titles sequence resulting in the death of Bond's pal Alec Trevelyan (Sean Bean) aka 006.

A further hour passes before it's revealed that the movie's big bad is in fact Trevelyan himself, seemingly returning from the dead. Sadly, though, if you saw any of the film's trailers before heading to the cinema - which you most certainly did - this fact is given away for free.

Considering that the first half of the film focuses largely on Trevelyan's brilliant henchwoman Xenia Onatopp (Famke Janssen), it would've been incredibly easy for the marketing to focus on her dangerous sex appeal without even featuring Bean at all.

It certainly didn't mar the film's success, but still, there was no reason at all to spoil this one ahead of time.
