Why It Might Save Hollywood: Of all the animation houses operating in Hollywood, not one, not even Pixar, has quite the same low-fi, home-spun charm as Laika, who pride themselves on their incredible stop-motion animation techniques, which have led to the brilliant Coraline, ParaNorman, The Boxtrolls and Kubo and the Two Strings.

At this point the subject matter isn't really a concern. They're so adept at weaving visually stunning, totally original and thoroughly charming tales that pretty much anything they make is going to be welcomed with open arms by discerning animation fans.
