14 Predictions For Next Summer's Biggest Movies
3. Han Solo Is The Worst-Reviewed Star Wars Movie
The Prediction: The much-troubled Han Solo origin story will be unable to overcome its controversial change of director and the belief from some fans that Han Solo really doesn't need his own movie, scoring the lowest Rotten Tomatoes score of any of the nine live-action Star Wars movies to date (because who cares about The Clone Wars?)
At present, The Phantom Menace holds the lowest honours with a rather middling 55% score, but expect Han Solo to drop ever-so-slightly below it if those production woes can't be ironed out, landing somewhere around the 50% mark.
Why It Might Not Happen: For starters, Rogue One proved that this franchise is perfectly capable of weathering major production problems, with huge chunks of the movie being re-shot under new personnel, and the end result was broadly acclaimed by most critics, even if many fans weren't quite so enthusiastic.
It's an easy project to dump on, but with so much money at stake, Disney and Lucasfilm are going to exhaust every creative option before letting another Star Wars movie get mixed or negative reviews ever again.
