14 Problems Nobody Wants To Admit About The DC Extended Universe
1. It Will Always Lag Behind Marvel
And the toughest fact for DC fans to come to terms with is that the DCEU is always going to be lagging behind the MCU.
Yes, Marvel Studios had a considerable head-start on Warner Bros. and effectively built the blueprint for superhero movie universes, but the DCEU's attempts to play catch-up have been pretty dubious so far.
Warner's executives need to take a step back, take a breath and make peace with the fact that they're never going to be Marvel, and that's just fine.
While Marvel is due to release the biggest superhero movie of all time next year with Avengers: Infinity War, the worst thing Warner Bros. could do is try to match it with a rushed Justice League sequel that features even more superheroes and subplots.
Marvel took their time building up their characters in solo movies before bringing them together, but the DCEU has tried to skip some basic steps and rush to the main course. That's not how it should work, and if Warner can't be comfortable working at their own pace, they risk derailing the whole franchise in the long run.
