14 Simple Fixes That Could Have Made Suicide Squad Awesome

9. Cut Out The False Start And The Repetition

The Problem

Before the actual Suicide Squad go to take down Enchantress, Amanda Waller sends Enchantress and Rick Flag in to battle Incubus basically on their own with a bomb and literally plan. This is disastrous, not only because it means Enchantress can escape, but also because it made Waller - who is supposed to be an infallible genius remember - look like a bloody idiot.

And even worse, it was only in there as a contrived way of getting the bomb that ultimately kills Incubus, GQ and Diablo under the train station. It's such an eye-rolling development that you might have died on the spot if you weren't already numbed by the rest of the film.

And as for repetition. THERE ARE THREE BLOODY HELICOPTER CRASHES IN A MATTER OF ABOUT TWENTY MINUTES. Grow an imagination.

The Solution

Excise the false start mission entirely: diluting Waller's standing is unnecessarily reductive, and it's too contrived when the Squad have already been called into action. You don't need that to be how Enchantress escapes any more, and you don't even really need the bomb, so it's better off gone.

And to replace the bomb, simply have Diablo super-charge to the point that he implodes fatally. It's the same effect, but with a magical element that makes Incubus' death more fitting.

The solution to the repetition is far simpler. Just stop doing it.
