14 Simple Fixes That Could Have Made Suicide Squad Awesome
7. Have Killer Croc Actually Be A Monster
The Problem
Despite his looks, Killer Croc is a pretty hopeless monster. He never lives up to his billing in battle, and you end up wondering whether he's just counted as a villain because of his skin condition. That's just racist, dog.
The Solution
Have him actually be a monster. David Ayer cut out the impact of his own character by removing his backstory (and expecting his single moment saying "I'm beautiful" was a substantial enough stand-in - it wasn't), and into that vacuum crept doubt over his actual villainy or use as a Squad member.
Even something as simple as engineering a Croc versus multiple enemies scene (perhaps even as part of his backstory) would establish him as a special team (the Suicide Squad's Hulk, basically). And having him actually fight a bit more rather than standing around pulling faces would have sold him far better too.
You know, instead of basically making him Lenny from Of Mice And Men and then immediately regretting the decision.
