14 Stupid Blunders That Ruined Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker

13. Hux Is Good?

Midway through the film, we learn that there's a spy in the first order, and it's none other than General Hux (Domhnall Gleeson).

Given his role in the last two films, it was baffling to see him turn like this. However, he does reveal he doesn't actually care for the Resistance winning, he just wanted Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) to lose.

It was an interesting idea to have Hux turn on the first order, but it's so off because this trilogy has wildly mishandled this character.

In The Force Awakens, he's an intimidating figure who gives a speech to first order troops that's very much like Adolf Hitler, right before Starkiller Base blew up the Republic.

The Last Jedi, however, turned Hux into a joke, who's now incompetent, gets a phone call prank from Poe, and thrown like a rag doll by both Snoke and Kylo Ren.

There was potential in seeing why he changes like this, but alas, new character General Pryde (Richard E. Grant) deduces that Hux is the spy and kills him. What a waste of a character and Domhnall Gleeson.
