14 Terrible Looking 2017 Movies That Will Shockingly Make A Profit

1. The Emoji Movie

The Emoji Movie
Columbia

Release Date: August 4

Why It Looks Terrible: Surely one of the most cynical premises in recent movie history, The Emoji Movie is a film literally based on those cute little icons 12-year-olds use when texting, directed by the man behind Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch and Igor.

While it's possible that Mike White (School of Rock) co-writing the script could result in a pleasantly subversive effort like The Lego Movie, it's safer to expect something much broader and lazier in order to appeal to the widest audience possible.

Why It'll Still Make A Profit: You can market this idea in almost every country on Earth and it'll be easily accepted, so regardless of how good or bad it ends up being, there's zero chance of it not being a sizable hit, especially with little competition either side of it.

Which seemingly awful movies do you most suspect to light up the box office this year? Shout them out in the comments!
